DOHA: Eight students were injured in a brawl over performance of car stunts near the Jasem Bin Hamad Indpendent Secondary School, a local daily reported.

It all started when one student and his father tried to prevent a student from another school to perform stunts. But after two days, he came back with colleagues and assaulted the student and his father as other students tried to intervene, the Arabic daily Al Raya said.

According to the paper, one parent claimed that police did not arrive at the scene for hours and that worsened the situation.

He said eight students sustained injuries in their faces and heads.

‘My son was attacked by the father of the other student and his car flapped intentionally. If he had committed a mistake, they should have informed police instead of putting his live in danger,” claimed another parent.

School Director Khamis Mubarak Al Mohannadi refused to talk to the media. The Supreme Education Council said on its Twitter account that scuffles between students had taken place near the school but caused no injuries.
