16 teams to take part in QGP football tournament on National Day

DOHA: On National Sports Day on February 11, Qatar Germany Partnership (QGP), a community organisation, will hold a football tournament at Al Sadd Sports club with 16 teams from local and German companies, including Nasser Bin Khaled (NBK) and Sons and Al Faisal Holding, a press statement said yesterday. 
QGP was founded in 2011 under the patronage of German Industry and Commerce Office Qatar by a group of German companies operating in Qatar and major Qatari business owners. 
QGP organises and sponsors events that support the Qatari and German communities.
Major sponsors and/or participants of the friendly-tournament include Mercedes Benz, Audi, Volkswagen and Puma. 
The tournament will be held in the presence of Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim, Chairman of Al Faisal Holding, and Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser Al Thani, Chairman of NBK, along with representatives of the German embassy and heads of participating companies.
The event will be a day of football games, family entertainment and social activities including a kids area and a ‘bake sale’ corner with proceeds going to charities and a raffle draw with prizes for all the audience. 
The games start at 9am and are expected to end by 4pm. 
Other games which will also be held on the sidelines include Treasure Hunting and Shoe Mixing (open for everybody), Balloon Relay and Race (for kids between three and six years), Obstacle Race (seven to 10 years), Sack Race (11 and above)  and Obstacle Race also for parents.
