The Abu Dhalouf Park offers an alternative getaway for families in Qatar at the weekend. The park, nestled beside the sea in the northern town of Al Ruwais, is a place where visitors can picnic, barbecue, swim or enjoy a boat ride. It has become popular with families of different nationalities because of the variety of activities possible at the park, which has facilities like toilets and playgrounds. Among other attractions in the area are traditional dhows and motor boats berthed by the shore, and a historical building.
