DOHA: Doha Bank bagged top honours at ‘The Banker Middle East Industry Awards’, taking home awards in four main categories including Best Web/Mobile Banking Service for the Doha Bank mobile app, Best Savings Account for Al Dana Savings Scheme, Best Co-Branded Credit Card for the Lulu Doha Bank Shopping Credit Card, and Best Forex Trading Service.
The awards were received by Dr R Seetharaman, CEO of Doha Bank, and senior management from the retail banking, treasury investment and technology departments at a ceremony held in here recently.
“The awards indicate the success of Doha Bank’s business strategy across key verticals,” said Dr Seetharaman. “To come up trumps at The Banker Middle East Industry Awards is always special as the criteria for making the grade are so stringent, and you clearly need to be a cut above the competition to win in any category. These awards are an acknowledgement for innovative offerings to our customers using technology. The awards are also a source of great encouragement for us to push our limits in creating products and services that meet the changing needs of our customers.”
Doha Bank said that it got the award for Best Forex Trading Service for its industry-leading range of margin trading products and corporate hedging solutions for cross-border transactions that have been seeing increased demand. The Bank, which offers foreign exchange services from 7.15am to 8pm from Sunday to Friday, also provides the best rates for expatriate customers for remittances to their home countries.
The Lulu Doha Bank Shopping Credit Card, winner of the award for Best Co-Branded Credit Card, offers an unbeatable value proposition on everyday spends, with cardholders saving 5 percent on every purchase via shopping points each time they shop at Lulu stores in Qatar. It is the only product of its kind to allow customers to enjoy instant savings on groceries as the points earned can be redeemed without any limitations or restrictions.
Al Dana savings account offers customers a wide range of banking benefits including a free VISA international debit card and online, SMS and newly introduced Apple Watch banking services. Customers can also manage their utility bill payments through their Al Dana account and transfer funds across multiple accounts and to third parties, as well as send money overseas at the most competitive exchange rates.
