Birla Public School and the Qatar Cricket Association jointly organised a coaching camp to identify new talent available at the grass-root level and involve it in the game.
QCA General Secretary, Manzoor Ahmad, Gul Khan Jadoon, Head of Domestic Cricket, Amin Ul Islam, Head of School Boys Cricket, and Syed Hassan Raza, QCA Technical Head, visited the venue and supervised the activities.
Aruna De Silva, Abdul Salam and Haider Ali, all QCA coaches, ran the coaching program efficiently.
They were also assisted by Birla Public School coaches Mrs Paramjeet Kaur Bhullar (Girls) and Amrithakshan (Boys).
As many as 170 players, divided into various groups, worked hard in all the training sessions and showed a great deal of will to learn the game.
QCA General Secretary, Manzoor Ahmad, expressed his happiness at the camp and said: “It was a very successful camp. All the players put in serious efforts. I’m sure the participants enjoyed the new coaching methods and used all the training sessions to improve themselves."
“The QCA wishes to thank the Principal, Aditya Kumar Shrivastava, for the keenness to have the coaching camp in their school. For us, it was a good experience and we hope we will continue to get their support and cooperation in future camps as well,” Ahmad said in his address to the students.
At the end of the camp, Asif, QCA Accountant, presented a Memento to Birla Public School Principal, Shrivastava.
