MANILA: The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said yesterday it viewed the refusal of a restaurant in Beijing to serve Filipinos and citizens of countries with territorial disputes with China as an isolated incident.
DFA spokesman Raul Hernandez said the government is aware of the report that the Houhai restaurant refuses to serve Japanese, Vietnamese, and Filipinos. “We think the notice that was posted on that shop in Beijing is a private view about the whole situation that is happening between the Philippines and China,” Hernandez said in a press briefing.
“We hope it is not a state policy not to allow Filipinos to dine in restaurants in Beijing China,” He added.
