Doha: Aspetar once again demonstrated commitment to becoming a leader in sports medicine by 2015 by partnering with the 5th Advanced Course in Knee Surgery in Val d’Isère, France.
The event earlier last month saw international speakers and delegates in lectures, video sessions, case studies, roundtables and interactive discussions to further concepts and guidelines for knee treatment and care.
Aspetar experts, including Dr Nebojsa Popovic, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr Emad Almusa, Consultant Radiologist, and Dr Juan Manuel Alonso, Sports Medicine Physician attended while Aspetar Chief of Surgery, Dr Philippe Landreau, was co-director of the summit.
“Knee pain and injuries are common in athletes and Aspetar recognises the importance of discussing latest approaches to surgery. Bringing together experts from across the globe, including France, the UK, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Italy and Australia, the conference served as a platform to engage some of the greatest minds in the field of knee surgery,” said Dr Landreau.
Sessions were divided into eight topics, including ‘Imaging for knee surgeons’, ‘How to manage menisci lesions’, ‘Update on ACL reconstruction’, and ‘Athlete’s knee overuse’.
