Doha: Minister of Justice H E Dr Hassan Lahdan Saqr Al Mohannadi has returned from the UK, after taking part in Global Law Summit in London.
Doha: Minister of Youth and Sport H E Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser Al Ali yesterday issued a decision, merging Qatar Marine Sport Federation and Sailing & Rowing Federation.
The new entity will be called Qatar Sailing and Marine Sport Federation and will be an umbrella for aquatic sports available or those that would be formed in the future. It will be chaired by Khalifa Mohammed Al Suwaidi, with Ali Nasser as Secretary-General. The board will run the federation on a temporary basis until a new one is elected. The move is in cooperation with Qatar Olympic Committee to activate the role of the federations in promoting sports in the country.
Brussels: Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al Thani, Head, Qatari Mission to the European Union in Brussels, held the first meeting of Qatari-European Friendship Association at European Parliament.
He thanked Tokia Saifi for her efforts she exerted since she chaired the association which was set up in 2012. The ambassador wished Ramona Nicole Manescu, new Head of the association, success in her duties and Qatari-European relations further development. Talks dealt with Arab and regional developments and topics of joint interest. QNA
