Leverkusen: Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender has torn his thigh muscle and will be sidelined for two weeks, the Bundesliga club said Tuesday.
Bender has just recovered from an ankle injury which required surgery. The injury kept him out since October. The player joins a growing list of injuries that includes Jonathan Tah, Kyriakos Papadopoulos, Kevin Kampl, Omer Toprak, Stefan Kiessling and Charles Aranguiz.
Leverkusen are currently sixth in the table, four points behind the crucial third-place spot. The top three teams in the Bundesliga qualify for the Champions League.
