Doha: The Doha Women Forum, in collaboration with the US Embassy in Doha, L’Occitane and Mondrian Doha, together with WASL Events Marketing, will host yet another event to bring together women of diverse cultures and backgrounds to inspire and empower them.

The Sisterhood Act, to be held on  March 5, from 4pm to 5.30pm, aims to recognise the resources and opportunities that will help to embrace equity.

The event will follow the theme of the International Women’s Day ‘#EmbraceEquity’, wherein, by the process of equity, the ultimate goal of gender equality can be reached.

The Sisterhood Act will feature a musical performance by Muslim American girl band Aint Afraid, with twin sisters, Inah and Yahzi.  Aint Afraid is dedicated to empowering, inspiring, uniting, and motivating people all over through their music, fashion, and art. Since making their debut as recording artists in June 2020, their mix of modern pop, hip hop, soul, and R&B has garnered millions of streams in less than a year.

Besides, providing women the opportunity to meet, connect, find common ground and network, the event will also feature inspiring talks by Asmaa Al Kuwari, Founder of Asmaa Consultancy and co-founder of The Global Businesswomen; and Natalie Sader, author, psychologist and coach. The event will be hosted by life coach and trainer Wadha Alathba.

To encourage local talent and provide a platform for local artists to showcase their expertise and share their perspectives with a bigger audience, The Sisterhood Act will host an art exhibition showcasing artworks by artists Maryam Naser,  Lina Alali, Saida Albader and Noof Almerekhi.

US Deputy Ambassador Natalie Baker said, “We are so proud to bring the exceptionally talented Aint Afraid from the United States to Qatar for the Doha Women Forum, and to be part of The Sisterhood Act.  The Aint Afraid performance will inspire and motivate everyone who sees it.  We have been listening to their music for weeks at the US Embassy, in excitement for their visit, and it is the perfect way to celebrate Women’s History Month.”

L’Occitane Brand Manager Lynn Elladki said, “L’Occitane is not just a brand, it’s a commitment towards women empowerment. We believe in empowering women through education, entrepreneurship, and leadership, and we are proud to say that we have made a positive impact in countless lives.”

The Sisterhood Act will be held at the newly opened Patio by Walima at the iconic Mondrian Doha. The spectacular terrace destination with stunning sunset views, serves as the perfect backdrop setting to celebrate International Women’s Day, especially given Mondrian Doha’s ongoing commitment to women's empowerment.
