Kahramaa builds, upgrades substations

DOHA: The Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has constructed new substations and upgraded another to ensure service sustainability. This includes new Doha, Khuraitiyat south, Central market B, Doha Industrial F, and Mesaimeer North 11/66kv substations. Abu Sedra, and Industrial area super substations (220/132/66/11kv) have been commissioned and upgraded.
Kahramaa has expanded several substations including Wajba Super 400kv, Lusail LDS2 400kv, QU north 132/11kv, and Garian Genyhat super 220/132/11kv. Gharafa substation 132/66/11kv will be completed soon.
Kahramaa has constructed strategic substations in Mesherib downtown Doha 1 and Sheraton parking substation which will join service before the next summer. New substations have been commissioned in Wajba 66/11kv, and Abu Hamour super 220/66/11kv.

VCU-Q lecture on online platforms


DOHA: As part of its annual Crossing Boundaries Lecture Series, Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar (VCU-Q) presents Greg Rosborough with a lecture ‘Advancing Entrepreneurship Through Online Platforms’ today at 6pm at its Atrium.
The American entrepreneur and designer will talk about his experiences in co-founding UGallery, the first online gallery for emerging US artists, which offers affordable art for sale.  
The lecture will also cover his label Abasi Rosborough, a forward-thinking designer menswear label based in New York.
Rosborough founded the label with Abdul Abasi, his classmate at Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Now in its fifth season, the label applies architectural precision to familiar aesthetic touchstones and global traditions.  
Rosborough has extensive experience with online platforms. The free lecture is open to the public.
