Doha: West End Park yesterday announced that it will organise ‘Entertainment Festival’ for workers on the occasion of International Labour Day today. The two-day festival will include performances and activities such as musical performances, fashion parade shows, light shows.
“In appreciation of the workers in Qatar, we are hosting this event that aligns with the same dates as International Worker’s Day because we want to salute all the workers in Qatar on this occasion for their important contributions in various fields. Despite the challenges, we have been able to accomplish many achievements in Development and Infrastructural projects in all regions in Qatar,” said Mana Al Mana, Chairman of West End Park.
Organisers are expecting about 20,000 people to enjoy the celebrations in two days. Today’s events will be focused on Indian and Nepali audience while the celebrations tomorrow will focus on Philippines audience. Celebrations will start at 4pm today and 7pm tomorrow.
“West End Park provides the workers with a perfect destination for leisure and fun,” said Al Mana.
The West End Park includes four cinemas where each holds 500 seats, in addition to the Amphitheatre of a capacity to host 14,500 spectators. West End Park also includes a world-class cricket stadium, which meets the international standards.
The West End Park is owned by the Jassim Bin Mohammed Al Thani Social Welfare Fund, and it is the first national investment managed by a private company which combines shopping, sports, culture, education and entertainment. The park is considered the largest residential real estate project in Qatar which can accommodate more than 70,000 workers.The Peninsula
