NEW YORK: Eight members of the Cuban military died on Saturday when their plane crashed in the western part of the island nation, its army announced.
The Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces said in a statement the plane went down in the province of Artemisa, about 62 miles (100 kilometers) southwest of the capital Havana.
The military is investigating the cause of the crash, which left no survivors, the statement added.
