The 13th Qatar National Arabian Horse Show for Individual Owners kicks off today.
Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) is set to bring the Arabian Horse Show Season to a close with two major championships for individual owners. The first event will be the 13th Qatar National Arabian Horse Show for Individual Owners, starting today and will continue until May 4.
It will be followed by the 10th Qatar National Peninsula Arabian Horse Show for Individual Owners, taking place from May 5 to 7. Both events will be hosted at the Indoor Arena of the Qatar Equestrian Federation.
The two shows are exclusively dedicated to individual owners, in line with QREC’s ongoing commitment to support the community and encourage the acquisition of top-quality bloodlines. By fostering such initiatives, QREC aims to elevate the level of competition and enhance participation show after show. Generous cash prizes will be awarded to the winners of the top titles and those securing first places in the qualifying classes. The 13th Qatar National Arabian Horse Show for Individual Ownersis set to see strong participation, with 400 horses competing across various classes. Colts, fillies, mares and stallions will vie for a place in the finals, where champions will be crowned.
Last year’s edition saw impressive performances, with Nouf Aljumail, owned by Aljumail Stud, clinching the gold medal in the Yearling Fillies Championship. Saber Al Shaqab, owned by Al Thamer Stud, captured the gold in the Yearling Colts Championship. Meanwhile, Reem Aljumail, also owned by Aljumail Stud, took gold in the Junior Fillies Championship. AJ Tayam, owned by Nasser Mohammed Al Hajri, claimed the gold in the Junior Colts Championship. In the Senior Mares Championship, Ekram Al Khaled, owned by Aljumail Stud, won the gold, while Hagras Al Shaqab, owned by Hamad Ahmed Al Jehani, earned the gold medal in the Senior Stallions Championship.
Meanwhile, the 10th Qatar National Peninsula Arabian Horse Show for Individual Owners will feature 220 Peninsula Arabians. This special bloodline has been a highlight of the local calendar for several seasons, reflecting individual owners’ deep interest in this lineage. The conclusion of this Show will officially mark the end of the Arabian Horse Show Season.
Last year’s renewal witnessed Noor Al Nawasi, owned by Al NawasiStud, win the gold medal in the Yearling Fillies Championship while Mansour Al Arab, owned by Mohamed Jassim AlKuwari, secured gold in the Yearling Colts Championship. Shgairah Al Doha, owned by QN Stud, claimed the gold among in the Junior Fillies Championship.Talal Al Waab, owned by Abdulla Mohammed Al Kuwari, took top honoursin the Junior ColtsChampionship.Bidayat Ibn Salamah, owned by Al Jaham Stud, earned the gold medal in the Senior Mares Championship, while Yazeed Al Rayyan, owned by Al Sraiya Stud, clinched the gold in the Senior Stallions Championship.
It is worth noting that the current season featured 12 national and international championships. Through these events, QREC continues to achieve its strategic goals of expanding participation opportunities for Qatari owners, whether individuals or stud farms, and promoting diversity in shows, ensuring the inclusion of all segments of the Arabian horse community.
