Doha: The Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) Ladies Forum was inaugurated with a slew of extraordinary social and charitable events, and a partnership agreement with the leading event organiser and marketing firm Design Creationz.
The MoU was signed by Saleh bin Ali Al Mohannadi, QRC Secretary-General, and Cricely Demenjon, the founder and co-owner of Design Creationz.
Under the agreement, Design Creationz will provide marketing, promotion, and support mobilisation services for the forum’s message and activities among the company’s VIP clients; through its events and, particularly, fashion shows, in different media outlets such as TV, radio, and magazines and via social media such as Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and online blogs.
Al Mohannadi expressed his thanks to Design Creationz for the  partnership, which is a substantial step towards more engagement of women in charitable efforts and better demonstration of their significant role in disseminating the ideals of benevolence and compassion, a press release issued by QRC Ladies Forum said yesterday.
Demenjon, now member of the Forum, said: “We are honoured to partner with QRC Ladies Forum. We share the same goals and the same target audience. We will work hard to give the Forum more visibility through our glamorous women-only events, marketing platforms, and media connections.”
The first achievement of the partnership was the annual ‘Laha Trunk Show’, which was organised by Design Creationz at the Torch Hotel and featured designers from top fashion brands in the Gulf region.
The organiser of the show allocated a special section for QRC, enabling it to recruit female volunteers. After each part of the show, the designer would raise a plank showing her brand name together with the name of the Forum, which gained considerable publicity among the participants.
A social media account was created for the Forum on Twitter and Instagram (@QRCLADIES), to communicate its message to as many women as possible, and to find more supporters and active members.
In Ramadan, the Forum’s Chairwoman Noura Al Dossari said, there will be a Charity Ghabga, in cooperation with Design Creationz and St Regis Hotel. It will involve an Iftar/Sohour dinner, during which an innovative fashion showcase will take place. After that, there will be a silent ‘texting’ auction, where the classy apparel modelled, decoration of the ballroom, and a luxurious Bentley will be sold, with the revenue going to QRC as donations for its humanitarian work.
The ceremony will display a film or presentation about QRC, followed by a distribution of symbolic gifts to the attendance, who will not be limited to upper-class ladies, but will generally include female officials and professionals from different major Qatari institutions and corporations.
Lately, the Forum sponsored the ‘Enlighten Me’ campaign, a volunteering fundraising initiative undertaken by a group of Qatari female university students to help Syrian children at the Jordan-based Zaatari Refugee Camp continue their education.
