Al Shaqab Racing’s Lwsail on his way to winning the Jebel Ali Racecourse Za’abeel International Stakes (Gr1 PA) on Sunday at Newbury. He won after overcoming Barnamaj and Macallan. Trainer Thomas Fourcy after the win said: “It was the race I had aimed for him this year. It is a colt I have always rated high. He had won on his debuts at Bordeaux, over 1400m. But afterwards on longer distances, he had a tendency to asphyxiate himself because he is a very keen horse. He stayed on a good second place at Dax behind the very good mare Mabrooka. We will try and find him other races on this kind of distance.”
