Top Umm Salal officials present their new signing Mohamed Khamis Al Malki ahead of the new QSL season.

Doha: Umm Salal Sports Club has signed a three-year deal with defensive midfielder Mohamed Khamis Al Malki ahead of the new QSL season.
The former Al Ahli star signed the contract during a press conference which was held on Saturday evening in the presence of the club’s General Secretary Khalid Al Abdel Jabbar, the Media Officer Mohamed Rasheed and the player’s agent Fahad Al Yami.
Al Malki expressed his happiness for joining Umm Salal and thanked the management for having faith in him.
He said” “I had many other offers, with both Al Gharafa and Al Arabi who very keen to have my signature, but Umm Salal was the most serious and so I choose them.”
In other development, attacking midfielder Masoud Shojaei arrived in Doha to join Al Gharafa as the club’s fourth and final foreign player.
Shojaei fills the QFA’s one Asian player quota for Gharafa. The Cheetahs have now finalised their four foreign players, they are: Brazilian defender Anderson, Congolese striker Alain Dioko and the Tunisian Yasin Shikhawi.
Shojaei is not new to the Qatar Stars League as he played with Al Shahania last season.
Meanwhile, Al Sadd is set to face the Palestinian U-19 National Team as well as Al-Kharaitiyat in the coming week, as part of their preparations for the new Qatar Stars League season.
The team had earlier won friendlies against Al-Markhiya and Mesaimeer 5-1 and 6-3 respectively.
Both matches will be played at the club’s training pitches.
