Brazilian national football team player Joao Miranda delivers a press conference in Quito on August 31, 2016, ahead of a Fifa World Cup Russia 2018 qualifier match against Ecuador.

Euro: Inter defender Miranda has been named as the new captain of Brazil after Neymar chose to step down.
Barcelona forward Neymar elected to relinquish the armband after leading the Selecao to gold at the Rio Olympics. And on Wednesday new coach Tite confirmed Inter Milan’s Miranda will lead the team out for World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Colombia this week.
The Selecao met Ecuador on Thursday hoping to get their qualification campaign back on track with what would be their first win at the altitude of the Ecuadorian capital in 33 years.
