Doha, Qatar: Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is strengthening its dermatology services across its hospitals, providing comprehensive diagnosis and treatment using the latest internationally approved therapies and evidence-based clinical practices.
As part of its Medical Services Series, HMC yesterday highlighted its Advanced Dermatology Care, underscoring its commitment to providing safe, compassionate and effective care for patients with a wide range of skin conditions.
The dermatology services provide specialist diagnosis and treatment for immunological and infectious skin diseases, as well as skin cancers, with round-the-clock coverage. Services are available through outpatient clinics, as well as on-call support for Emergency Departments and inpatient wards.
Dermatology services are available at Rumailah Hospital, Al Khor Hospital, Aisha Bint Hamad Al Attiyah Hospital, Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital and Al Wakra Hospital. Highlighting the importance of early detection of skin cancer, HMC said suspected cases are referred for specialist assessment within 48 hours, enabling timely diagnosis and treatment with the latest internationally recognised and advanced therapies.
HMC also operates dedicated phototherapy clinics at Hamad General Hospital and Al Khor Hospital. The services offer treatment for conditions including psoriasis, eczema and certain types of skin cancer, with outcomes comparable to those achieved at international centres.
HMC also reminded members of the public to take extra care of their skin during the summer months. It advised avoiding prolonged and direct exposure to sunlight and maintaining adequate skin hydration to help protect skin health.
HMC stressed that early consultation and appropriate specialist care are important in managing skin conditions effectively and improving treatment outcomes.
