HANOI: Typhoon Wutip, which hit central Vietnam, killed at least three people, injured 35 others and damaged over 95,000 houses in Vietnam's central region.

According to the report of the Central Committee for Flood and Storm Control on Tuesday, all the three deaths are in Quang Binh province while the other 35 injured people are from Ha Tinh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue provinces.

The storm-hit localities also reported huge damages of houses and crops and other infrastructure works.

The strong wind and heavy rains severely impacted the national power lines, causing wide range power loss in central provinces.

The committee also warned of rising water levels in most local rivers, causing high risks to the hydro-power reservoirs.

Local authorities are trying to work on the consequences with the government's financial support. (QNA)
