Doha: The 2015 Cadillac Escalade, an all-new evolution of a winning formula, has arrived in Qatar. With its bold design, powerful capability and luxurious accommodation for up to eight occupants, the fourth generation of Cadillac’s flagship SUV has already registered one of the fastest pre-order rates in the country.
“The Escalade represents the world-class standards that our customers have come to expect from Cadillac,” said Felix Weller, Regional Director, Sales and Marketing for Cadillac. Mohamed Helmy, Group General Manager at Mannai Auto, added: “Our customers recognize the importance of selecting a powerful vehicle with an extensive roster of revolutionary features. The all-new Escalade takes the luxury SUV to new heights. It is an all-new evolution of a winning formula.”
A more efficient 6.2L V-8 engine has strengthened the performance of the 2015 Escalade lineup. It generates 420 horsepower and 624 Nm of torque, which is nearly five percent more horsepower and 10 percent more torque than the previous generation. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with Tap Shift control. The sophisticated chassis and suspension system has been engineered for a quieter, smoother ride. A fully boxed frame – composed of more than 75 percent high-strength steel – is the foundation for the solid ride quality. New shear-style body mounts help reduce vibration transmitted into the vehicle.
Magnetic Ride Control delivers more precise body motion control by “reading” the road every millisecond. It replaces conventional mechanical-valve shocks with electronically controlled shocks filled with a magneto-rheological fluid. Under the presence of a magnetic field, iron particles align to provide damping resistance almost instantly. The product line consists of the standard Escalade model as well as the extended-length ESV edition, which offers a wheelbase that is 355 mm greater and is approximately 508 mm longer overall. This provides added space for third-row passengers and 60 percent more cargo space behind the third-row seat.
Another new feature in the Escalade is front and rear automatic braking. Short-range radar technology and ultrasonic sensors help the driver avoid front and rear low-speed collisions via a progression of alerts that extend to complete braking, if necessary.
