DOHA: Hamad International Airport (HIA) is preparing for an increase in departing and arriving passengers during the Eid Al Adha holidays. The airport has advised passengers to arrive at the airport three hours before their flight departs, said a press statement yesterday.
Badr Al Meer, Chief Operating Officer at HIA, said: “We would like to wish all our passengers and residents of Qatar Eid Mubarak. During this special holiday, when many people will be visiting friends and loved ones all over the world, HIA is working tirelessly to ensure that all our passengers have an enjoyable and pleasant travel experience.”
To airport has reminded passengers that check-in will close 60 minutes prior to departure so they should take advantage of the online check-in service offered by airlines such as Qatar Airways.
Those dropping off and collecting passengers have been informed that HIA offers free parking for the first 30 minutes in the short-term car park, and charges QR5 per hour thereafter.
Passengers who drive their own cars to the airport will find free parking in the long-term car park, where they will be offered a free bus ride to the bus terminal at HIA. All unattended vehicles parked on the kerbside throughout the HIA facility will be towed away by the authorities.
