Eight teams of Doha Golf Club members beat the professionals’ score of gross 61 during a Beat the Pros event recently. The professional team finished in scintillating style with a birdie on the short 17th and then an eagle on the long 18th par five final hole. The professionals team consisted of Anthony Miley, Steven Troup, Phil Redpath and Sam Filipczak. The event had been added to the DGC events calendar for some time and was open to both members and guests. Vouchers were awarded to each team of four that scored lower than the professionals’ score. The golfers played in either a morning or afternoon shotgun and the weather favoured neither group due to the high temperatures.
