DOHA: Sage Middle East (Sage ME), a business management software provider, has seen huge success in the Qatari market throughout the 2015 fiscal year, according to a senior-level executive.
The IT industry comprising of hardware, software, and IT services is expected to be valued at QR6.8bn in 2019, displaying strong growth from QR4.8bn in 2014, according to a report on information technology in Qatar done by BMI Research.
The same report suggests, the software segment is expected to hit QR828m in 2019 from its QR548m in 2014 buoyed by government modernisation and diversification plans. Reggie Fernandes, Regional Director for Sage ME, related the significant role it plays in supporting its Qatari clients’ impressive growth story.
“Over the years, as Qatar’s economy grows, IT development received considerable investments both from government entities and international corporate groups,” he said. “As the sector evolves, we saw a great opportunity to serve the growing needs of large multi-national companies and SMEs for enterprise business solutions. We are proud to have made a positive contribution to this development, as we partnered with companies in several industries and helped them address the toughest business challenges in Qatar.”
