Minister of Social Development and Family H E Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi and other Ministers from the GCC countries at the meeting in Bahrain yesterday.
Manama: Qatar participated in the 24th meeting of the Committee of Ministers Responsible for Housing Affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held in Bahrain.
Qatar was represented at the meeting by Minister of Social Development and Family H E Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi.
The meeting, held as part of the Fourth Gulf Housing Week, discussed a number of priority topics and issues regarding joint Gulf housing efforts and the follow-up of relevant initiatives and projects, in addition to fostering the exchange of expertise and experiences among member states and enhancing cooperation and coordination in the housing sector.
The Minister of Social Development and Family also participated in a ministerial panel discussion on the future of national housing.
During the session, Her Excellency highlighted aspects of Qatar’s experience in developing its housing system and its efforts to enhance the efficiency of housing services, as well as leveraging digital transformation and innovative solutions to streamline procedures and improve services provided to citizens.
She also addressed the importance of integrating sustainability and quality-of-life concepts into housing policies, strengthening strategic partnerships and coordination among relevant entities, and anticipating the sector’s future needs in support of building integrated and sustainable residential communities centred on the needs of citizens and families.
The session provided an opportunity for ministers responsible for housing affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to exchange views and experiences on the future of housing policies and the most prominent innovative solutions and practices that could be implemented across GCC countries.
Her Excellency also participated in a panel discussion for senior housing officials. During the session, she highlighted aspects of Qatar’s experience and approach in the housing sector, the importance of strengthening integration between housing policies and various related sectors, and the use of innovation and modern technologies to develop housing services and enhance their efficiency.
As part of the events accompanying the Fourth Gulf Housing Week, the Ministry participated in the Social Housing Innovation Conference, which brought together a number of officials, experts, specialists and entities involved in the housing sector. The conference discussed a range of topics related to innovation in housing and reviewed current approaches, solutions and practices for developing housing policies and services, alongside the exchange of experiences and expertise among participating entities.
The Ministry also participated in an exhibition accompanying the Fourth Gulf Housing Week.
