DOHA: The health centre in the Sealine area is closed, almost two weeks after the start of the camping season. In addition, waste disposed in this area is piling up due to lack of pick-up service during the holidays, according to a report in Al Raya yesterday quoting visitors to the area.
Hamad Al Hajeri, a Qatari national, stated that the piles of waste “are damaging the area, there is too much garbage left behind since the camping season started”.
He also said that “the trucks that collect the garbage haven’t come for the last 10 days” and demanded “quick action” from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs to clean up the area. “Several workers will be needed for the task”, he added.
He also sidd that, more than 10 days after the beginning of the camping season, the health centre in the area is not open yet. “Users of the beach need medical services, people with diabetes or heart problems require quick medical attention, the Supreme Council of Health should open the centre as soon as possible”, he added.
On the other hand, Mohammed Hussein, a Qatari national as well, said that the Sealine road “is very narrow and the accidents are on the rise”.
Another national, Fahad Waqqaf, said that “the road needs better street lighting because many reckless young people drive through it when it is dark, causing serious accidents”.
Nationals also requested more places for tyre maintenance and that the Sealine mosque be expanded, due to the growing number of people who visit this area on weekends.
