The Qatar Luxury Classic Cars Contest and Exhibition 2022, organised by the Gulf Qatar Classic Cars Association, concluded yesterday. The event took place over the span of six days, and witnessed a large turnout of classic car enthusiasts, and casual visitors.

The contest and accompanying exhibition were no doubt a great addition to the list of highly entertaining activities that are being hosted and organised at The Pearl-Qatar. H E Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Gulf Qatar Classic Car Association, praised the great turnout that the exhibition witnessed, and highlighted the highly-anticipated competition that took place featuring many collectors of luxury classic cars.

“We are elated with the great success of the exhibition, and its tremendous ability to attract visitors from the country and abroad, making it one of the most sought after events taking place in the country. We are proud to have successfully organised and hosted it as a precursor to the hotly-anticipated FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.”
He added: “The visitors the exhibition attracted were incredibly diverse and  included connoisseurs of classic cars, as well as those who felt intrigued to know more about this rich heritage; and here lies the importance of organising this type of exhibition.”
Meanwhile, Al Fardan expressed his elation with the success of this year’s edition. “Following the establishment of the Gulf Qatar Classic Car Association, we have been keen on organising a variety of exhibitions and events, as well as taking part in international events, in order to further deepen our well of experiences, and we have undoubtedly succeeded in achieving that through organising the previous iterations of the exhibition, which improved our standing within the community, as well as help propel the Qatar Gulf Classic Car Association’s reputation further as a consummate supporter of classic car collectors.”
“The association highlighted its development by organising this year’s edition with the support of the International Classic Car Federation (FIVA), which set the criteria for and oversaw the process of selecting the participating categories as well as the winners,” he added.
H E Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser bin Khalid Al Thani, a member of the association’s board of directors of the Gulf Qatar Classic Car Association said: “The Gulf Qatar Classic Car Association has succeeded in developing a platform that brings classic car collectors and enthusiasts together annually, and allows them to revel in the magic of these rare vehicles, as well as to educate the public, citizens and residents alike on the importance of organising these type of exhibitions, that uphold and document a bygone era in Qatar’s history, in order to protect the legacy and heritage of our ancestors.”
Commenting on the participating classic cars, he stated: “Each of the participating cars had a set of unique and distinctive features, which makes them all incredibly invaluable and worthy of winning, and the credit needs to be given to the collectors of these cars and the great lengths they take to preserve them.”
The exhibition ended with the announcement of the competition winners, which allowed classic car collectors to participate by exhibiting their cars that were judged by a jury from the International Classic Car Federation.
