Vodafone Qatar launches ‘We Fan Together’ campaign in metaverse

Doha: With less than three weeks to go until the world’s biggest sporting event takes place in Qatar, Vodafone Qatar has launched its latest national campaign, ‘We Fan Together’, in the metaverse for the first time, all via a new virtual experience. 

The campaign, which runs until December 18, serves to connect local and international football fans throughout the tournament and enable them to get closer to the action on the pitch.

The launch event took place yesterday in Vodafone’s newly opened experience store at Place Vendome Mall. Attendees were invited to witness the launch of the campaign in a Vodafone Qatar custom-built metaverse platform, that offers a one-of-a-kind digital experience for all visitors to the store. The integrated campaign is a reflection of the role that Vodafone Qatar has continued to play over recent years regarding the development of the sport sector in Qatar. 

Vodafone’s COO, Diego Camberos, said the company aims to empower fans with the latest technologies and activities to deliver an engaging fan experience through its 5G network connectivity, Fan Sims, roaming and more. He announced that, for the first time ever, ‘Free Unlimited Data for Fans’ will be available to all Hayya Card holders; this offer will give a Free Fan SIM bundled with unlimited data for two days, along with thousands of local minutes and SMS.

Vodafone SIMs will be made available to fans at all entry points in Qatar. The My Vodafone App is now customised to enable self-activation via Artificial Intelligence for live face verification and is linked to the customer’s Hayya Card for identification and security purposes. In doing so, fans will not need to go to a store as they will be able to digitally purchase and self-activate their SIM via the My Vodafone App by following some simple steps. Apart from this, the upgraded App comes with new enriched features, products and new look and feel for this special event. 

After enjoying unlimited data plus voice for free for two days, fans can continue to enjoy everything they need in one simple package, including unlimited data, local and international calls, 22GB of GCC roaming data to use when visiting neighbouring countries and even $275 worth of entertainment vouchers for just $20 (QR72) valid for 7 days or $40 (QR145) valid for 14 days. 

All existing postpaid and prepaid Vodafone Qatar customers can also get a free reward from October 31 onwards on their My Vodafone App. Found in the ‘Offer’ section, this reward will entitle the user to unlimited data, thousands of local minutes, and SMS, all valid for two days. Also, from November 8 for existing Prepaid Vodafone customers, there will be a great new recharge promotion on the popular Combo 60 & 120 recharges giving unlimited data for 30 days.
