Doha, Qatar: Al Daayen Municipality, represented by the Ministry of Municipality, will organise a series of activities highlighting the connection between Qatari heritage and environmental sustainability as part of Qatar Sustainability Week 2026, including interactive gardening workshops, a discussion session and a henna tree-planting campaign.
The programme aims to raise environmental awareness while showcasing the cultural significance of the henna plant and its potential contribution to a more sustainable future.
The interactive gardening workshops, focusing on the henna plant, will be held for school students, alongside the distribution of 500 henna seedlings to visitors. The activities will take place at IKEA store from November 2 to 5.
A discussion session titled ‘Henna Roots in Heritage, A Horizon for Sustainability’ is scheduled for November 4 at 10.30am at Al Daayen Municipality headquarters. The session will explore the plant’s roots in local heritage and its relevance to sustainability.
The programme will also feature a henna tree-planting campaign at Simaisma Beach on November 5 at 10.30am, encouraging community participation in planting activities.
