DOHA: The Supreme Education Council (SEC) honoured a number of Independent schools for their outstanding performance in e-education applications being implemented in 100 schools.

Amal Al Kuwari, Director of SEC Information Technology Department, said that e-education strategy is to serve the development of education for knowledge creation and to develop new models of learning that would improve the educational outcomes and lead to excellence in education.

SEC held a meeting recently which reviewed performance reports of all independent schools participating in the system. The reports have shown a steady growth in applying the e-education system at schools.

Educational Expert Osama Al-Samman explained that the key reason behind the success of these distinguished schools is building and investing a work team in the optimal way, as well as ensuring ongoing communication and follow-up.

Distinguished schools, according to him, set realistic and achievable goals within a specific time frame, announce and celebrate the realization of such goals, and make sure the system is fully integrated in the school day.

A number of schools, including Zainab Preparatory Independent School for Girls, Mouzah bint Muhammad School for Girls, Ibn Khaldoun Preparatory Independent School for Boys, enumerated the good practices of applying the e-education system and explained the procedures and policies pursued by their respective staff to promote e-education. Representatives of these schools praised the program and revealed its positive impact on the educational process.
