DOHA: Doha International Family Institute (DIFI), will hold a seminar titled ‘Population Dynamics’, where  scholars, scientists, and policy makers will discuss the various changes affecting the Arab Family brought about by population and demographic dynamics.
The seminar will be held tomorrow and on Tuesday.
DIFI has called students to volunteer as rapporteurs for this event. Their anticipated role will be to support the moderator and report on the proceedings of the seminar.
The in-depth dialogues will provide aspiring students a unique opportunity to accrue first-hand knowledge on the dynamics of the Arab Family, and afford them the opportunity to discuss and examine these topics with expert scholars and academics in the field.
During the event, DIFI will be introducing ‘KIVA,’ a revolutionary form of debate and discussion, which allows students to rapidly collect large volumes of data within a limited time-frame.
The KIVA provides students with an opportunity to share discussions with researchers on women’s rights and children’s issues, ask questions, and discuss views in an open and frank environment.
The Kiva debate will take place on the second day of the seminar.
The seminar will address five main topics related to Arab families as Marriage and Family Formation; Trends and Patterns in Fertility and Family Size; Population Migration and the Family; Adolescents and the Family and Inter-generational and Gender Issues Affecting Family Cohesion.
