Doha: The eighth meeting of speakers of the GCC parliaments and Shura Councils began yesterday, chaired by the Speaker of Qatari Advisory Council H E Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khulaifi.
The Speaker thanked the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for supporting the meetings. Al Khulaifi wished the Emir and leaders of the GCC success in their efforts.
The speaker expressed hope that the meeting will support joint GCC parliamentary work.
The Speaker added that the meeting has become an important method of enhancing cooperation between GCC legislative bodies.
