MediaOne felicitates Qatari officials, journalists

Prominent journalists and officials with MediaOne channel officials during the felicitation held at the West End Park Amphitheatre.


Doha: MediaOne, a prominent TV channel based in the southern Indian state of Kerala, recently organised a mega show, Pravasoltavam Qatar, at the West End Park Amphitheatre, which drew over ten thousand audience.
Al Jazeera Media Network Director General Dr Mustafa Sawaq inaugurated the programme in the presence of government officials and eminent Arab and English journalists.
Prominent media establishments and journalists in Qatar were felicitated at the event. Gulf Journalist Union Secretary-General Nasser Muhammad Al Usman, former adviser to Minister of Culture, Musa Zainal, Editor-in-Chief of Qatar News Agency (QNA) Khaled Al Siyara, Editor-in-chief of Al Sharq Jaber Al Harami, Acting Managing Editor of the Peninsula Hussain Ahmad, popular environmentalist and  Secretary-General of Arab Volunteer Union Dr Yusuf Al Khadim, Mani’a Al Mania, and Luay Al Khadoomi have received mementos.
During the event MediaOne was officially declared as the first Indian television channel approved by the Qatari government. Channel’s Managing Director Dr Abdussalam Ahmad received the letter of approval from QNA Media Establishment head Ibrahim Muhammad Al Obaidely.
A letter of appreciation for MediaOne for its role in propagating social and welfare activities undertaken by the Interior Ministry was handed over by the Public Relations Director of the ministry, Colonel Abdullah Khalifa Al Muftah.
Popular Qatari singer Ali Abdussattar enthralled the crowd  with a song he had composed praising  Qatar’s victory in the Gulf Cup football tournamnet held in Riyadh. A galaxy of forty-plus celebrated artists, film stars and singers from Kerala graced the show with their non-stop and enchanting performance.
