Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) benchmark index lost 67.92 points, or 0.87 percent, when the bourse closed trading at 7,714.26 points yesterday.
The volume of shares traded increased to 11.82 million from 11.82 million on Wednesday and the value of shares increased to QR246.42m from QR246.42m on Wednesday.
Out of the 45 companies listed on QSE, shares of 42 saw trading yesterday. Of these, 17 gained, 24 closed lower and one remained unchanged.
Indices of all sectors ended in red. QSE Total Return Index lost 0.87 percent to 12,936.35 points. QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index decreased 0.86 percent to 3,032.42 points and QSE All Share Index declined 0.49 percent to 2,136.14 points, reports QNA.
When compared on weekly basis, the QSE index lost 28.20 points, 0.36 percent, last week.
Trading value during last week increased by 64.66 percent to reach QR1.42bn compared to QR867.64m.
Trading volume increased by 62.33 percent to reach 60.84 million shares, as against 37.48 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 56.27 percent, to reach 22,719 transactions as compared to 14,538 transactions. Market cap rose by 0.02 percent to reach QR418.14bn as compared to QR418.06bn at the end of previous week.
Banking and financial services sector led traded value last week with 42.46 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 21.26 percent. Transportation sector accounted for 9.94 percent and real estate sector accounted for 8.94 percent.
