General Manager of Katara Prof. Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti and Professor Waldemar Pfoertsch sign copies after the launch event.
Doha, Qatar: In the presence of ministers, senior officials, academics, and leading experts in marketing and brand strategy, the Cultural Village Foundation - Katara, hosted yesterday the launch of “B2B Brand Management, Qatar Edition,” the first publication of its kind in the country.
The book is co-authored by three globally renowned figures: Prof. Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, a distinguished professor of marketing and General Manager of Katara; Professor Philip Kotler, famously known as the “Father of Modern Marketing”; and Professor Waldemar Pfoertsch, one of the world’s leading authorities in B2B brand management and humanistic marketing. Marking Qatar’s first specialised reference on business-to-business brand strategy, the book offers an in-depth examination of modern practices in B2B branding, alongside a contemporary analysis of the Qatari commercial sector and its future direction.
In his keynote address, Dr. Al-Sulaiti expressed pride in launching a milestone publication that mirrors the rapid evolution of Qatar’s business landscape. He emphasised that the book is the outcome of rigorous academic collaboration designed to equip Qatari enterprises with advanced knowledge tools.
He noted that the book features real Qatari case studies—including Qatar Airways, Al Jazeera, Industries Qatar, and insights from Katara itself—highlighting how national institutions build strong brands, innovate amid challenges, earn consumer trust, and leverage Qatari culture as a powerful branding asset.
“This occasion is not only the launch of a book,” he said, “but a reaffirmation that Qatar today is producing knowledge, that its companies are not just competing but leading—and Katara is proud to be part of this effort.”
Dr. Al-Sulaiti also extended his thanks to H E Prof. Sheikha bint Abdullah Al-Misnad, former President of Qatar University, for writing the book’s foreword, and to H E Dr. Abdullah bin Juma Al-Kubaisi for his contributions.
Professor Waldemar Pfoertsch delivered remarks on global shifts in B2B brand management and how the book contextualizes these concepts for Qatar through practical, applicable frameworks.
