DPS MIS conducted a two-day in service training programme for its teachers at the new school premises in Wakra recently. This workshop was aimed at orientation of the teaching staff towards innovative ways of engaging the learner. The endeavour was around the maxim ‘unlearn and learn’. The sessions stressed on learning innovative techniques, understanding school education and its dynamics in the present world scenario and building lasting relationship with students.

Principal Asna Nafees set the tone for the event by narrating an inspirational Zen story with the moral, ‘unlearn to learn’ — one needs to give up preconceived notions before he/ she becomes eligible to receive something new. She welcomed the gathering and expressed gratitude to the school management for investing in professional teacher development initiatives. Vice President Yasir Nainar stressed the need to understand discipline and its relevance — discipline as an essential criterion for fruitful learning experiences, and the relevance of learning to real life.
