Sacrifice for homeland has no limits: Defence Minister

The Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Maj Gen Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah honouring a graduate at the graduation ceremony of the second batch of national service, attended by senior officers and officials yesterday.

Doha: The Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Maj. Gen. Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah said the homeland not only needs national service but also sacrifices until death.
He told the graduation ceremony of the second batch of the national service that making a sacrifice for the country is an endless effort in national work and the Armed Forces Command seeks to promote and develop this effort for the future of the country.
He said the national service is not merely a military work but also loyalty to the country, which involves many areas such as the environment, security and other things citizens should be aware of.
The Minister said the graduates completed their studies in a short time which reflects their loyalty and belonging to their homeland and their keenness to learn, especially in defending and securing their country. He hoped that they will be a nucleus for the future of the country.
Maj. Gen. Al Attiyah thanked ministries that contributed to the success of batch, notably the ministries of Interior, Environment and Education and congratulated Qatar on their graduation.
He also congratulated the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Father Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and asked the graduate to dedicate themselves to the service of the homeland as they did during training.
