The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) of Pakistan has collected Rs1,452bn ($13.82bn) during the first half (July-Dec) period of the current financial year 2016-17 against desired target of Rs1,594b, registering a shortfall of Rs142bn.
“We have collected over Rs370bn as provisional figure in December 2016 against fixed target of Rs392bn and few billion more will be added into it till finalising of the revenue collection,” FBR’s Spokesman Dr Iqbal said.
The FBR will have to collect Rs2, 152bn during the second half (Jan-June) period of the current fiscal year in order to materialise highly ambitious target of Rs3, 604bn on June 30, 2017.
