Doha: The police arrested three persons who had stolen tires from cars that are parked in front of their owner’s houses.

They were duly handed to the court and were sentenced to one year term in prison.

The court also ordered to remove the accused from the country after the execution of the penalty.

The Public Prosecution referred these persons to the Court of First Instance on charges of theft at night.

The police had reports that an unknown person had stolen the tires of a parked car in front of a citizen's house.

However, fingerprint expert’s report couldn’t identify the culprit.

Later, six more cases of similar nature have been reported and all of which were sent for search, investigation and fact-finding.

The investigation revealed that the culprits stole the tires and spare ones attached to vehicles from parked cars and then sold them in exchange for money.

According to the documents, one of the defendants watched the street for passers-by on the streets.  The first and the third defendants were accused of theft and the second was a partner.
The Peninsula newspaper posts these kind of legal cases from the court, to raise awareness about the dangers of violating laws or infringing on others in the country.
