Community welcomes ICBF life insurance scheme

DOHA: ICBF recently announced a development initiative to support the community, in the form of community insurance scheme for the Indian community members aimed at protecting families of the expatriates.
The life insurance scheme has been receiving an overwhelming support from Indian community since it was announced. Hundreds of people are queueing up every day to get themselves enrolled in the program and it is going to be a huge success as reported by ICBF Managing Committee.
The coverage of insurance program is QR100,000. It also covers permanent or partial disability up to the maximum covered amount depending on the severity of the disability.
A special meeting of all Indian associations in Qatar was conveyed at Kanjani Hall IICC, which saw large participation and interest from all community organisations in Qatar. More than 150 people representing various associations participated in the meeting and took part in discussions and brainstorming to reach the goal of 100,000 enrolment within six months period.
ICBF General Secretary, Avinash Gaikwad, welcomed the gathering and while Acting President, Mahesh Gowda, gave the presidential address. 
ICBF Development head Juttas Paul presented the Insurance programme in detail to the public and the association leaders clarified their queries too. 
Representing IBPC Sheji Veliyakath attended the function and vice president head of corporate at Damaan Islamic Insurance Company- Beema Abdul Samad also addressed gathering answering few questions.
The meeting participation and response was evident for the community appreciation and interest towards the newly announced scheme. All organizations unanimously agreed to work together to reach the target of enrolling maximum Indian community members in the scheme. The event was coordinated by ICBF advisory council members K R G Pillai, Irfan Ansari, ICBF managing committee members Rajani Murthy, Senthil Athiban, ICBF Development Sub Committee member Abdulrahoof Kondotty, Jerry Babu, K R Jayaraj and KV Boban.
Those who would like to join the insurance scheme can fill the forms available online at ICBF Facebook page or website and submit it at either of the following office of ICBF along with passport copy and QID copy: ICBF office at Indian Embassy - every working day between 9am to 5pm ICBF Office at Integrated Indian Community Center (IICC) every day including weekends from 12noon to 8pm except Sundays only from 4pm-8pm.
