Doha: Eco Club of Rajagiri Public School (RPS) has launched a campaign to support Qatar’s 'Plant Million Tree' initiative.
Managing Director of Rajagiri Public School George Jacob inaugurated the programme by planting Sidr saplings in the campus. An e-magazine titled Legacy was also launched on the occasion. The magazine explains the harm caused to nature by the carbon footprint.
A link provided in the magazine helps readers calculate the amount of carbon footprint he or she leaves behind, based on the lifestyle, and explains how planting trees helps to erase it.
After explaining various other benefits of planting trees, it urged readers to contribute to the tree planting mission by clicking on a link.
Readers can donate the saplings of their choice using the link and can also register to take part in the programme as a volunteer.
