Doha: Officials at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has affirmed the ministry's interest in training and qualifying its employees in order to achieve its strategy to build national cadres with a high level of competence and capable of achieving security throughout the country, protecting gains and achievements, implementing the law and upholding justice with an enlightened security thought that keeps pace with international standards.
This came in press statements on the sidelines of the celebration of the graduation of the fifth batch of students nominated at the Police Academy of the Ministry of Interior, at the Police Training Institute in Al Sailiya this morning.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior and Commander of Lekhwiya Force HE Major General Abdulaziz bin Faisal Al-Thani, affirmed the Ministry's interest and keenness to train and qualify its cadres according to the highest international standards to serve its strategic goals on the security and service levels.
He said that the Ministry of Interior spares no effort in providing police officers and all its employees with higher academic degrees that qualify them to implement the modern security policy and achieve the strategic goals sought by the Ministry.
The Commander of Lekhwiya Force pointed out that the establishment of the Police Academy (at the end of last year) came to achieve these higher goals, and to create an integrated system to employ science data in serving security purposes according to educational, training and academic plans.
He also pointed out that the Police College is an integral part of the ministry's system in order to achieve the concept of comprehensive security through the continuous development and modernization of all its pillars to prepare a modern policeman who has the ingredients capable of absorbing and confronting the great development in the world of crime.
In this context, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior pointed out that the ministry has been keen to support and develop educational and training programs for the students of the Police College since its establishment, which contributed to their rapid transition to practical life after their graduation and the performance of their duties in accordance with the latest international systems.
He confirmed that the college is witnessing remarkable and significant development at all levels.
The Commander of Lekhwiya Force affirmed that the ministry will continue to implement the security strategy in order to consolidate the pillars of security and stability as an irreplaceable pillar for preserving the basic elements of the security work process and the achievements and gains of society.
For his part, the Director of Public Security Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi, expressed his great happiness with the graduation of the fifth batch of the Police College and the joining of a distinguished group of security officers to work in various departments of the Ministry.
He said that the college has become the main and pivotal tributary of the Ministry of the Interior and has provided it with the best national police cadres, who are able to bear the burdens of security work, in order to continue the path of excellence and high security performance witnessed by the whole world during Qatar's hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The Advisor to the Minister of Interior and Vice President of the Supreme Council of the Police College Major-General Dr. Abdullah Yousef Al Mal, said that the celebration of the graduation of the fifth batch comes this year under the umbrella of the Police Academy, which reflects the interest of the Ministry of Interior in the security academic aspects, and the modernization of its educational and training system.
He added that the academy aims to bring together all academic, research, training, and educational security and police units under one umbrella.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Interior is constantly working to update its educational, training and research system in what falls within its competence, in line with developments in the security and legal fields locally, regionally and globally.
The Vice President of the Supreme Council of the Police College also indicated that modernizing the educational and training system achieves the ministry's strategy, enhances its role and the role of other security institutions in the country, and provides outputs that contribute effectively to human, social and economic development in all vital sectors.
For his part, President of the Police Academy Brigadier General Abdul Rahman Majid Al Sulaiti, said that the graduation of the fifth batch candidates at the Police College came after development efforts culminated in the establishment of the Academy to provide the security sector in the country with qualified Qatari cadres that respond to all security requirements and meet the needs of the country in its victorious march.
He explained that these courses achieve the objectives of the Police College in preparing police officers with a high degree of professional competence in accordance with international best practices for educational and training programs.
For his part, the Director of the Police College Lieutenant Colonel Fahd Saeed Al-Subaie, expressed his confidence that the graduates will perform their security mission professionally after they have obtained advanced sports and military training and specialized academic sciences in legal aspects of knowledge.
He stressed that the Police College will move forward in achieving its vision, which seeks to lead locally and regionally in legal and police education and training, and to be a beacon in the field of legal and police sciences for its members.
