Gulf Engineering Forum opens

DOHA: The 18th Gulf Engineering Forum opened yesterday, with experts discussing issues related to traffic safety, managing successful projects, green infrastructure and training employees for project management.
Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning H E Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Minister of Administrative Development H E Dr Issa Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi and Minister of Environment H E Ahmed bin Amer Al Humaidi inaugurated the forum.
The three-day forum at Saint Regis Hotel Doha is co-organised by Qatar Society of Engineers (QSE) and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) under the theme ‘Infrastructure Projects in the GCC Countries’. 
In his inaugural address, Nasser bin Ali Al Mawlawi, President, Ashghal, and  President of the forum, called on participants to benefit from papers presented during workshops and roundtable discussions.
He said the forum will make recommendations and proposals to contribute to the development of the sector in the GCC countries.
Ahmed Jassim Jolo, Chairman, QSE, highlighted QSE’s journey since inception and its contribution to the enrichment of the engineering work in Qatar. Awards and shields were presented to pioneers and inventors from the GCC and major firms sponsoring the forum, presidents of Gulf engineering societies and heads of Gulf and Arab engineering unions.
