DOHA: Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has invited entries for a poster and storyboard competition on quality improvement initiatives.
The contest is part of Middle East Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare 2015 (ME Forum) to be held from May 29 to 31 at Qatar National Convention Center. Submissions can be made online through the forum website http://ihimeforum.hamad.qa
The competition is open to teams of doctors, nurses and allied health professionals in the Middle East who have made significant quality improvements in their institutions’ healthcare delivery over the past year. Authors of shortlisted posters and storyboards will be able to exhibit their works during the conference and have the opportunity to share ideas with other healthcare professionals.
The five categories of the contest are aligned with the forum themes and include quality improvement initiatives that address patient flow optimisation, patient safety improvements, patient centred care and patient engagement, specialist interventions, as well as initiatives that display leadership in healthcare quality and patient safety. Shortlisted candidates will showcase their works at the exhibition and be automatically entered into a competition for best poster or storyboard in each category.
Professor Michael Richmond,  Chief of Medical, Academic and Research Affairs, HMC, and Co-Chair, ME Forum, said, “We are anticipating an even greater number of submissions this year, and look forward to viewing the highly sophisticated body of work, developed by valued healthcare professionals across the region. Last year’s exhibition was well attended, with over 160 poster and storyboard entrants. This year’s competition will be judged by a team of medical professionals and we will have one winning category based on the public’s choice. It is an exciting opportunity for hardworking teams to have their work recognised,” said Prof. Richmond.
Submissions will be open until March 31, after which shortlisted entrants will be notified of their acceptance into the competition. Submitters are asked not to register for the forum until after this date to ensure they are registered correctly and can benefit from the special poster exhibitor rate.
