DOHA: Qatar Primary Materials Company (QPMC) will highlight its role in supplying quality aggregates and sand for Qatar’s construction sector, at the 18th Gulf Engineering Forum that opened here yesterday.
“This forum is held in Qatar at a time when the State is undergoing massive developmental transformation in the field of infrastructure, targeting realisation of the Qatar National Vision 2030 that aims at providing the best infrastructure network and best standards of living for citizens and residents of Qatar,”  QPMC Chief Executive Officer Eisa Al Hammadi said.
“QPMC meets the country’s largest requirements for washed sand and we seek to increase our stockpile of sand and aggregate. QPMC produces Washed Sand and regulates Sale of Dune Sand in Qatar and this is available for sale in the local market. QPMC stands for quality, reliability and efficiency. Our Strategy aims to generate long term shareholders’ value, by being responsible and positively contributing to the realisation of the human, social, economic, and environmental development and by so doing basing its business strategy on Qatar’s Vision 2030, in all its four pillars and across its business infrastructure.”
The three-day forum will have participation from personalities across GCC countries including decision-makers, senior officials from public and private sectors, engineers from the region, as well as major consultancy firms, contracting companies, and engineering institutions.
QPMC Operations Director Navjot Singh will be giving a presentation on the third day of the forum. Singh’s presentation will highlight QPMC’s role in supplying quality Aggregates and Sand for both private and government sectors; through efficient operations of ports and logistic activities.
The 18th edition of the forum provides a platform for exchange of ideas and views of the Gulf Engineering Societies to benefit from their expertise through presenting the GCC experiences in the field of infrastructure development.  The forum will also play an important role in boosting engineering awareness and encourage communication among engineers and their counterparts of various specialisations in the GCC states.
The forum is also hosting an engineering exhibition that brings together various engineering companies and institutions sponsoring and participating in the event.
