Municipality Minister: We are developing our Fleet to Keep Pace with Development

DOHA: HE the Minister of the Municipality and Urban Planning Sheikh Abdurrahman bin Khalifa Al Thani has confirmed that the ministry is concerned with the development of its fleet of vehicles and mechanical equipment to keep pace with the development currently underway in the State.


This came during a visit HE the Minister made to the Mechanical Equipment Department to inspect the new specialized vehicles which entered the service and which are the first of their kind in the State of Qatar.


HE Sheikh Abdurrahman bin Khalifa Al-Thani asserted the provision of full support for the use of modern technology, and asked the staff in the Department to exert further effort to improve performance in order to serve the homeland and introduce new ideas for the development of the work.


He listened to a briefing on the three-year plan for the development of the ministry's fleet which was implemented in three stages, and the most important specifications of the new specialty cars as well as the technical qualities and advantages needed for their daily performance in the street.


Meanwhile, the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning held a workshop on supervision at the headquarters of the Al-Shamal Municipality.


The workshop themes covered the provisions of laws developed in the areas of municipal control, notably law No. 8 of 2014 amending some provisions of law No. 4 of 1985 concerning of building regulations and law No. 4 of 2014 amending some provisions of law No. 8 of 1990 on the regulating the monitoring of human food. The workshop also focussed on the soundness of measures taken by inspectors and response to queries and problems encountered in their work.
