DOHA: Ooredoo has been named Official Telecom Partner for the Soccerex Global Convention 2015 to be held at Manchester Central Convention Complex in September.
Soccerex is the world’s largest football business event that brings together global leaders to debate, network and trade.
An agreement was signed at Ooredoo’s headquarters in West Bay by Waleed Al Sayed, Chief Operating Officer, Ooredoo Qatar, and Duncan Revie, Chief Executive Officer, Soccerex. It confirms Ooredoo’s sponsorship of the event and outlines support the company will provide.
Ooredoo will be at the UK-based event alongside the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy and work with it to showcase Qatar’s support for football and readiness to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
“Ooredoo supports the vision of the committee in ‘delivering amazing’ for the people of Qatar and the global community of soccer fans. We will demonstrate that Qatar is becoming the ideal venue for major sporting events, with a nationwide network of smart stadiums being developed,” said Al Sayed.
“We are delighted to have Ooredoo on board as partners for the convention. With the proposed development ahead of 2022, Qatar is one of the most relevant and talked about markets in football today. Partnering with Qatar’s leading telecoms organisation is the perfect fit for Soccerex and we look forward to working with Ooredoo to help them achieve their aims in football,” said Revie.
Soccerex 2015 will start with a Football Festival on September 6 and 7 and the conference will begin on September 8. A global  exhibition and a programme of networking and social events complete the schedule.
