President Aquino said yesterday he hopes to have some “quiet time” for reflection and prayer this Lent, including a prayer for his critics.
On the eve of the Holy Week exodus, the President embarked on an inspection tour of major transportation hubs starting with the Batangas Port Passenger Terminal in Batangas City. He was due to visit next the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminals 3 and 1 in Pasay City and JAM bus terminal in Quezon City.
He said his spiritual adviser and others in the religious community advised him to have a quiet time. So far, he said in an interview, he had not had a quiet time. The headlines yesterday morning, he said, did not allow one to have quiet moments.
“Pero at the end of the day, siguro pagmumuni-munihan ko ‘yung ‘di ba some quarters have this intense hate that they have continously exhibited. Siguro I’ll concentrate on praying for them [But at the end of the day, maybe I will reflect on some quarters that have this intense hate that they have continuously exhibited. Maybe I’ll concentrate on praying for them),” he added.
During his visit to Batangas, the President expressed satisfaction with the security preparations at the busy port.
“The passengers were all smiling. Nobody approached me with any complaint, so sana for the rest of the day ganun,” the President added.
