DOHA: Katara recently hosted a concert and a lecture highlighting Croatian arts, culture and tourism.
Croatian Ambassador Tomislav Bosnjak presented a lecture on tourism on Thursday, while a concert featuring four Croatian musicians was held on Friday.
“Today we build another bridge towards Croatia to get to know its culture and music through the lecture given by the ambassador and the concert presented by a Croatian band. We are pleased that Katara Cultural Village is offering its visitors once again the opportunity to be part of events that introduce the cultures and civilisations of other nations,” said Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager, Katara.
The lecture, ‘Amazing Croatia’, was attended by international experts, heads of diplomatic missions, and the general public.
Bosnjak highlighted the importance of strengthening ties with Qatar in various fields, especially the cultural sector, and encouraged people to visit Croatia and discover its islands and history dating back thousands of years.
He said Croatia is known for its pristine nature, delicious food and natural reserves. He also highlighted the diversity of topography and cultures that exist in the country, saying people can experience ancient traditions through dance and music festivals.
The ambassador promoted Croatia as a recreational holiday getaway, also famous for its medical facilities.
On food, he said halal food is available in Croatia and many four- and five-star hotels have received halal certification.
The Croatian musicians played Chamber music at Katara Opera House. The ambassador, VIPs and a large crowd music lovers attended.
