GOIC, UAE team explore investment opportunities

DOHA: The Doha-headquartered Gulf Organisation for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) discussed industrial investment opportunities with a visiting UAE delegation.
GOIC Secretary General Abdulaziz bin Hamad Al Ageel received the Emirati delegation of businessmen and investors headed by Sheikh Dr. Tariq Al Qassimi, Chairman of Al-Ittihad Investments from Ras Al-Khaimah at the GOIC office here.
The two parties discussed means of mutual cooperation and exchange of expertise to promote the industrial sector in the UAE in general and Ras Al-Khaimah in particular. They agreed that such a cooperation would positively influence GCC countries in general. The delegation included Dr. Mahmoud Fraihat, Chairman of Ithmar, Dr. Abdulmohaimen Qanbarji, CEO of Al-Ittihad and a number of managers, investors and businessmen.
An extensive meeting was then held with the participation of Dr. Ali bin Hamed Al Mulla, GOIC Assistant Secretary General for Industrial Projects Sector in addition to consultants and heads of departments from GOIC. The meeting was formally inaugurated by Abdulaziz bin Hamad Al Ageel, GOIC Secretary General.
Al Ageel gave an overview of the organisation and its objectives and activities in the industrial sector. GOIC Secretary General then went through GOIC’s projects and programs in the field of industrial studies and researches in the GCC with the delegation.
Participants discussed means of cooperation between the two parties, particularly future projects with the participation of the Organization like an industrial investment conference in Ras Al-Khaimah. They also talked about investment opportunities in the Emirate and how to benefit from GOIC’s database.
The delegation attended a presentation about GOIC’s programs, notably the IMI Plus, Gulf Subcontracting and Partnership Exchange (GSPX), Training and Capacity Development (TCD) and Industrial Technical Assistance (ITA).
GOIC is a regional organisation that brings together the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and the Republic of Yemen. It is an advisory knowledge-based institution aiming at developing regional industries by providing data, information, specialised researches, consultations and technical services for the public and private sectors in GCC countries. This organisation is the top industrial consultations expertise hub boosting industrial development in GCC countries and Yemen. It seeks industrial integration and coordination between member-states and endeavours to shape a regional industrial policy.
